The Road Is Clear

A bright sunshiny day. Yippee!!! Took the blower and blew all the debris (which was extremely much and that includes ice globs) away. What a difference it makes to have an entrance free of all kinds of leaves, sticks, and pine needles mixed with ice. My road has 3 hairpin turns on it, making it dangerous when filled with such litter and ice. If only the tractor was here again. I hope that retired corporate lawyer is happy now that he swindled it. I do not want to ever see his mug again.
Looking forward to a much prosperous year since it is looking like much expenditures are in the works.

Sunshine

Yes it is true the Sun is shining and the snow is melting quickly. Hurray!!! Some like the stuff, personally I believe it makes living even harder. The temperature has risen also. At 10:00 it was a balmy 44*. I can finally drive out on the road. The snow piles up right at the entrance to the property of Fairview and then freezes, making it one horrendous mess. Sometimes the vehicle wants to go down the steep part of the road sideways. Lovely and being in 4 wheel drive and in 1st gear. Enough of the complaining, already.

Freezing

Well it certainly was an unusual Christmas. Really not able to attend family gathering because of being snowed in. Looks like Twelfth Night is going to be celebrated this year.
This morning the outside temperature is 26*. A dusting of grapple fell in the night.
Awoke last night around 4:00 to some rolling and then shaking. Yep, it was an earthquake!!! The bed moved the door rattled. I know the signs very well. Apparently it was centered about 60+ miles from here. Perhaps it will shake some sense into my well.
Looking forward to nude sunbathing and skinny dipping.

December 23, 2008

It snowed only a dusting last night, however; it was 28* this morning. Frozen road frozen ramp all make it a very dangerous time. Hauled wood in the wheelbarrow to stock the inside wood stoves and fireplace. It is a toasty 74*. I am one for being warm. Tropical Paradise is for me.

December 22, 2008

Not a snow day. Hurrah. The weather people can be wrong. The ice is melting and the road out is becoming visible. It is difficult being locked in for days on end. Christmas giving looks like after the New Year giving.

December 21, 2008

Panic Attacks seem to be my normal feeling. I truly do not know how I am going to be able to stay here??? This water situation really is troubling. I have paid and will pay in property taxes for 25 years for a pipe line of treated potable water. Hook ups are around 6 thousand and then a monthly metered bill. I pray the well recovers. It has been 8 days of being snowed in on this hill.

December 19,2008

Another day of snow. This time a mix of rain, wind and snow. Not sure when I will be able to fix the water pipe split. Will have to be soon if I want to take a shower. I pray for the well to come back to life. Considering getting out of Dodge for good. I have never liked living in the snow. It is too much work, keeping the wood stocked, shoveling snow, making tracks in the snow so cars can come up and down. I really think I am at an age this will probably kill me in the future, that or make me even stronger.

December 18, 2008

Christmas is almost here. I have yet to do anything except try and survive being without well water and dealing with the snow. I am beginning to really not like it here. Warm sandy beaches truly are calling me. Being responsible for animals is such a drag.

December 16, 2008

Snowed on and off yesterday. It is difficult to fill storage tank with water. Do not want the pipes to freeze. Woke up to more snow falling. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low 20's F. Brrrr!!! It is a good thing I had that Timber Harvest done last year. Have enough firewood for probably another year. Looking forward to warm sandy beaches. Summer is my favorite time of year. Naked is the best.

Deer attractions.

December 14, 2008

It is happening right now. Snow is falling
and covering the deck with its whiteness. Checked the storage tank level. Should have enough water to last through the storm. Fires are going everywhere, basement, dining room and living room. Will soon light the one in the attached garage. The temperature outside this morning upon waking was 28 F. It is looking allot like Christmas. Will they be correct about 1 foot falling?

December 13. 2008

Woke up to a very light dusting of snow. It was not that bad. On the deck, outside temperature was 30 degrees F. Topped off the storage tank with more ditch water. Original forecast of valley snow has been moved ahead to probably Monday. Fairview will definitely will receive more snow. It is better to be prepared avoiding later disappointments. Shoveling snow has to be my worst chore. Every year I am going to some warmer climate. Never have been able to accomplish leaving. Perhaps a passport would help?
Found out today the pin up girl Betty Page was taken off of life support. May you RIP dear Betty.

December 12, 2008

Getting ready for the storm, today, purchased 9 gallons of water. The water will be needed much more now, since the well is very, very sloooow. Bought some food and drink, just in case we are snowed in long time. It has been predicted at least 2 feet and maybe a little more. That will keep the road closed for about a week. In my hurried rush to stock the wood in the house I fell flat on my back. Though it may have been a blessing. Last month I was in an accident and may have hurt my sternum and dislocated some vertebrae (whip lash) in my back. However, after today's fall my sternum is not sooo sore. Sometimes the cure is more painful than the illness. lol

Well it has been another day delivering ditch water to my holding tank for taking showers, flushing toilets and dish washing. Decided to use the blower to clean the road and around the house. It always looks better afterwards for about 1/2 hour, when the leaves fall covering the asphalt.
Had to take advantage of the lower price in gas, today. It has been some time paying a $1.75 per gallon. The truck needed a fill up. That should be good for another 180 miles.
A friend came over to show off his new game invention. Kind of like penguin parcheesi (sp). Will learn the rules later.

December 11, 2008

A friend came over and took many pictures of the farm and in side the house. This was discovered and here it is to share. I will post more later today. Just wanted to see if this was possible with my limited knowledge and ability of this techie stuff.

December 10, 2008

I spent the morning hauling wood to the house in preparation for this weekends storm. It is supposedly going to snow very low, possibly to the valley floor. Brrrr!!!! Since the well has gone south, I also filled gallon bottles of water for flushing toilets. We gather the water in 55 gallon drums from rain spilling off the roof. We have been practicing this technique for 30 years, since often times in a storm the electricity will go out. Maybe for 5 days. We do have a generator; however, it needs gasoline and when the lights are out for many hours much gas is needed. Thank the Almighty One this does not happen this time. It is hard to move on the snow laden road that is soooo steep. Going to get the mail and deliver the garbage can to the road below, then I will be ready to take my shower. After that I can fill up the holding tank with the ditch water using our gravity flow system. It takes about 1 hour to do that chore. Praying for the well to return. It has been difficult living for 3 years in a drought. Well I took the Sun Star Queen to the bank. We deposited some checks. On our way back to the farm stopped at a thrift store. The queen found a perfect gold lame outfit by a designer with a label not familiar(first name). Talbot is the last. Maybe Marj or Mary are the first name??? The top is fantastic, zippered down the front with pointed pixie hemline, pants are typical peddal pusher sith turn back cuffs. Whoaaaa!!! Sexy sexy sexy for the late 40's early 50's.

Today, I am beginning a new journey. I have found that I need to express myself. It has been such an interesting time on mother earth. I have many interests and endeavors. Hoping to share them with the Universe.
